About Course

In this course, you’ll learn how to use LinkedIn to build and maintain connections, how to identify and target specific companies and people, and other great tools you can use when networking — either in person or virtually. We’ll also provide sample scripts of things you can say to the people you want to connect with.

This course was developed through funding from Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Course Content

Introduction
In this course, you'll learn the basics of hiring methodologies, the importance of using LinkedIn to build and maintain connections, and how to identify and target specific companies and people. We'll also provide sample scripts of things you can say to people you are trying to connect with.

Do you know the company you want to work with? You can connect with people at that company to learn more about the company, their roles, and more. In this video, you'll learn various ways to search for and connect with people that are currently working with or have previously worked with your target company.

Tips to connect with people on LinkedIn
Learn specific strategies you can use to search for and connect directly with hiring managers, recruiters and other specialists within a company you're interested in.

How to get a “Yes” when connecting with LinkedIn users
Do you find people are often ignoring your requests to connect on LinkedIn? In this video, you'll learn some must-dos and proper LinkedIn etiquette when connecting with LinkedIn users. By the end of this video, you will know how to get a "Yes!" from potential employers and connections.

I really enjoyed this seminar. I also learned quite a few things that I would offer clients advise on - in particular 1/2nd degree matches and also I usually do it without thinking but being regularily on LinkedIn is very important and helpful for career search.
