The Career Foundation is currently seeking a Machine Operator / General Labourer on behalf of one of our employer partners.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and run machines (slotter and die cutter machines)
• Lay out a series of dies on a die bed according to customer specifications
• Insert die bed into machine and make necessary adjustments for machine to output product
• Use tape measure to ensure correct measurements when setting up dies, and bolt dies down
• Catch cardboard strips at the end of cycle run
• Maintain productivity and performance standards
• Follow customer product specifications according to the Job Sheet
• Efficient flow & movement of materials into the production process
• Perform quality checks on set-ups and production runs
• Troubleshoot equipment problems to ensure productivity is maintained
• Strict adherence to safety procedures and guidelines
• Perform general labour and housekeeping duties as assigned

Requirements:

• 1-2 years Machine Operation experience
• Ability to perform mathematics confidently using fractions
• Confident use of tape measure and other basic hand tools
• Must have excellent interpersonal and time management skills
• Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
• Able to lift 30-50lbs
• Comfortable standing on feet for long periods
• Strong attention to detail skills
• Bonus Qualifications:
• Experience working in a production, manufacturing, warehouse environment (asset)
• Knowledge of corrugate and paperboard products (asset)
• Mechanically inclined,
• Must be able to take direction and work independently
• Attention to detail and good problem solving skills
• Collaborative, team player, and willing to learn
