The Career Foundation is currently seeking an instructor for our Employer Partner MakerKids to facilitate in person programming. This role is perfect for a teacher, early child educator or camp counsellor who loves technology and creating.

Responsibilities 

• A creative, energetic person who likes working with kids and exploring new ideas.
• An enthusiastic educator with previous teaching or camp counsellor experience.
• An excellent communicator, with experience communicating with children and their families.
• Comfortable using electronics, computer software, hardware, and other various technologies- or very willing to learn.
• Comfortable working between 3-30 hours per week. Work hours are flexible, but availability must include class times-at least one weeknight from 3:30pm-6:30pm or 7:00pm to 9:00pm or one weekend day or half-day.
• During the summer, hours can be similar to the school year, with class times between 7:30am to 4:30pm.
• Facilitate MakerKids programming, including after school programs, camps, sampler sessions and private classes on robotics, coding, and Minecraft.
• Develop new activities and curriculum to enhance student learning experience.
• Proactively communicate with parents and guardians regarding student development.

Experience

• You have experience leading kids in an experiential learning setting such as school, summer camp, museum interpretation, outdoor adventure, or Montessori
• Background in computer science, technology, math, or engineering considered an asset but not required.
• An ability to pass a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening.
